When God Changes Our Plans!

"When Love Arrives"
 By Johnnie Alexander

Synopsis:

An Unlikely Couple Struggles to Reconcile the Burdens of Their Past
Dani Prescott came to the children's hospital to spy on Brett Somers--so how did she end up on a date with him? Weeks earlier she'd seen an interview in which he blamed her mother for the plane crash that had killed his parents. But the crash had killed her mother as well, so Dani can't believe the story Brett's trying to sell to the media.

Vowing to find a way to discredit the privileged--and maddeningly handsome--Brett, Dani has been following him and taking photos, hoping to find something she can use against him. But when she catches his eye instead, she quickly finds herself offering up a fake name and agreeing to a date. Brett knows this mystery girl is hiding something--but he's got his own secrets to keep. What will happen when he discovers who she really is? Will Dani and Brett look beyond their own heartaches to discover a love that could heal their deepest pain?

Fresh, flirty, and fast-paced, When Love Arrives is an engaging story that will have readers falling in love with the characters as they navigate the tricky waters between romance and revenge.

My Thoughts:
This book is the second in Johnnie Alexander's series entitled "Misty Willow". Although it can be read as a stand alone, I felt that it was more interesting after having read the first book, "Where She Belongs".

I loved the theme that the story wound around, the ties of families. They were examined throughout the book and proved to me once again that they can either bring us together or drive us so far apart that the rift seemingly becomes insurmountable. Johnnie excels in her storytelling ability, keeping the reader engaged from beginning to end in this life changing tale. The plot moves steadily with unexpected twists and turns cropping up at the most surprising times. I must admit that my night of sleep became shorter as I just could not put this book down.

The characters were well described and found their way into my heart. I easily identified with Dani as she battled her way through unhappy past memories and day to day challenges. As much as she desires closure, the path to it is rough and full of potholes. Brett is the deepest!! The relationship makes good headway only to plunge to its lowest point at an unexpected moment. This is a story that shows us how we must depend on God to plan our lives. His plans may be totally different than our's but we must trust him to provide for us, in His own way in His time. Not an easy path!

The ending of the book left us with the desire to know more! Johnnie leaves us with a bit of a teaser at the conclusion, making me eagerly awaiting her next book in this sweet series!!

A five star book!! A great read!

This book was a gift . The opinions expressed are my own.
