Get ready to fall in love again as Shelley Shepard Gray takes us back to Bridgeport, Ohio, where nobody gets left behind and a powerful community helps ordinary men and women to find extraordinary strength inside themselves.

My Thoughts:

First of all, I must admit... that when I see a new book being released by Shelley Shepard Gray, I am first in line to grab it! She has become a favorite author who uses her unique storytelling skills to produce books that keep a reader enthralled from beginning to end. This new book, the first in the Dance With Me series was no disappointment! It is an easy t read, easy to love contemporary romance that deals with two families that are brought together by dance! The author successfully intertwines their lives into a tale that will appeal to readers who love a good romance that also has an element of mystery.

The characters are unique, described in such realistic detail that I was immediately drawn into their lives and walked alongside them in their rather rocky journey of life. Three sisters who have just discovered each other and attempt to form a family that they have missed in their earlier years, bumbled along, doing their best to support one another, while learning to truly understand each other. Then, there is a brother-sister team , a young police officer who is protecting his sister as she recovers from a deep seated trauma. The author brought these two unusual family groups together in a way that immediately appealed to me. The world of dance and music can heal the soul!!!

The plot involves the sparks that fly as these individuals strive to come together as a unit . There were just enough twists and turns to keep one's attention . I have to admit that I read this book in one sitting.... causing me to lose some sleep as I read long into the night.

The underlying theme of this book was one that touched me and made me really stop and think. The real meaning of family  comes through loud and clear. A unit that has patience, kindness, love can cure all past hurts and disappointments and make for a happy future. There are always second chances available.... we just have to take a courageous step forward and accept them!!

A five star book!! Well done, Shelley!! I loved this book and am eagerly awaiting the next in the series!!

This book was a gift. The thoughts and opinions expressed are honest and my own.
