Beth Wiseman's Newest Hit, About to be Released!!

"His Love Endures Forever"              Product Details

Book 3 of Beth's Series,
"A Land of Canaan  Novel"

Synopsis:

Characters that we know well from Books One and Two appear again, but the focus this time, is on Danielle, a young girl we met previously, who is definitely NOT Amish.  She makes one BIG mistake, or so it seems- she falls in love with an Amish young man.  Then comes the shocker!!! Danielle discovers that she is pregnant. Of course, she is devastated, as any young single girl would be! But she is hoping that the father, Matthew Lapp will do the right thing and not leave her as a single mom. Danielle convinces herself that he will marry her. She is aware that Matthew has made plans to leave the Amish faith and his home in  Colorado , but in her innocence, believes he will fullfill his duties as the father of her baby.

The plot then thickens as Matthew walks away from the whole situation. His plans are the only important ones to him and he is not going to change them for anyone or any situation. Danielle is totally alone., feeling she has no one to turn to for help. She does have a young Amish man who is a good friend, who is extremely faithful to the Amish community. Levi offers her comfort as a friend but they really have nothing in common- She doesn't want to be pregnant, doesn't want to be Amish , and doesn't want to trust God.

What can she do? Where can she go? God has plans but will Danielle follow them? He has "loving plans to show a lost young woman that His love never goes away but endures forever" (excerpt from back cover of book).

My Opinion and Thoughts of this book:
When one opens one of Beth's books, it seems that you are entering another world- one in which you become very much a part !  You "live" her story, NOT just become the observer, when reading it. Each character has their own quirky characteristics that make them so special . Upon meeting each one, it is like biting into a chocolate, not knowing what you will find inside!! The outer image that you first imagine seeing, is not always what you find in the inner person.  Beth's special talent of making these characters so real and part of you is what keeps you reading long hours into the night. Each one has hurts, joys, disappointments , successes and yes, sometimes you emit a loud giggle or two when particular characters appear on the scene. A bit of humor here and there is what catches you offguard. Her characters connect , transform and redeem, right before your eyes.

The plot has twists and turns, with  surprises around every corner. Do not plan on starting to read this book , then put it down to get dinner or go to bed! IT WON'T HAPPEN!!  The many characters involved in Danielle's life have problems of their own and all have answers for her, they believe. The many feelings that each one goes through are felt by the reader intensely. You just NEVER know what each person is going to go through next or the situation that will arise. Your emotions are up and down and running wild!!

Beth tackles difficult subjects with such understanding and grace. The healing aspect is apparent in all of her novels, but this one, in particular shows how you only receive that healing grace through being vulnerable and honest before God. She shows that redemption is possible when life becomes hopeless. A message clearly shows through - God can DO the IMPOSSIBLE!!

 About Beth:
Beth's previous releases have held spots on the CBA (Christian Booksellers Association) and the ECPA (Evangelical Christian Publishers Association) bestseller lists. In 2010, she received the INSPY Award for Amish Fiction (chosen by blog reviewers). In 2011, she received the Carol Award and was the Inspirational Readers Choice winner for her book Plain Paradise. Today, she and her husband are empty nest parents of two grown sons, enjoying the country lifestyle and living happily with two dogs, two cats, two pot-bellied pigs, two chickens and a single pygmy goat in a small community in South Central Texas. When Beth isn’t writing, she enjoys cooking, reading, traveling, and watching good movies. Her favorite pastimes, however, are painting (her paintings can be veiwed on her Fans of Beth Wiseman Facebook page) and spending time with friends and family.

A Book of Faith- for those who have experienced abortion

"Cradle my heart" "Finding God's LOVE after abortion"
                     By Kim Ketola

About the Book: (Taken from book )

Abortion continues to be a hot topic in politics, women’s rights, and medical practice. But for the eight to ten million American Christian women who have had one, abortion is a spiritual issue as well, raising questions of life and death, heaven and hell, grief and loss.

Writing from her own experience, Kim Ketola sheds light on one of the darkest and most neglected personal issues of our time: the widespread need for healing and spiritual recovery after abortion. “After abortion brought the worst trouble into my life I had ever known,” writes Ketola, “I just couldn’t see my way free to believe in God’s love.”

With a compassionate heart, Ketola offers ten true stories of healing promise from the Bible to help women answer the most common spiritual torments they face: Is abortion a sin? Does God hate me? Where can I turn in my shame and distress? How could I ever tell anyone the truth? And more.

Inspired by Romans 6:4--“just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life"--this is a definitive resource to help women see themselves and God anew and--finally--to find spiritual healing.

My Opinions and Feelings about this book:
Abortion, in recent years, has become an answer for many women, to unwanted pregnancies. What many are not aware of is, that there are consequences of making that choice for many years. Kim does an excellent job in this book of raising the spiritual issues involved and how to heal oneself. This one choice made involves grief , loss, guilt, and unhappiness. One wonders if God hates them for killing an unwanted child, can He ever forgive them, can one forgive oneself?

Kim asks and answers all of these questions in this book in a tactful , caring, spiritual way that leads to the healing that is needed. I was so impressed by Kim's feelings of empathy and understanding of the hurt these women are going through. In each chapter, there is a subject addressed, then ideas for reflecting on the suggestions. A prayer request is then  printed that can be repeated by the reader. Lastly, each ends with ways to respond to the ideas, in order for healing to start and then continue to the next step.

This book is truly one which exhibits God's power to forgive  and redeem pain in lives and use it for Him. Something that many of us must be frequently be reminded of.  The wounds of abortion are described in such detail and in such a way that you feel the ache and pain of these poor women. It made me think, how would I have reacted in such a situation? What choice would I have made and what would my consequences have been.
This is a fantastic study book for all who have experienced abortion.

A much needed aid to spiritual wellness in this day and age.

Suzanne Woods Fisher does again!! "The Haven" is another winner!!

Review of the Second of the Stoney Ridge Series:

"The Haven"
By Suzanne Woods Fisher

Synopsis, taken from the book:
When Sadie Lapp steps off the bus in Stoney Ridge after being in Ohio for the winter, she is faced with a decision–one that goes against her very essence. Yet it’s the only way she can think of to protect a loved one.
Schoolteacher Gideon Smucker has been crazy about Sadie since boyhood. But his response to her surprising decision undermines his own reputation–and his relationship with Sadie.
College student Will Stoltz is spending the spring at the Lapp farm as a guard for a pair of nesting Peregrine Falcons–courtesy of the Lancaster County Game Warden. Will needs to get his life back on track, but his growing friendship with Sadie threatens his plans.

The lives of these three individuals intertwine, and then unravel as unexpected twists create ripples through the town of Stoney Ridge . . . and through Sadie’s heart.
Once again, bestselling author Suzanne Woods Fisher intrigues and delights with a story that explores the bonds of friendship, family, and true love. Readers will enjoy every surprise in Sadie’s story as they search for the truth hidden within these pages.
My Opinion and Feelings about this book:

When I opened this book, it was like letting some sunshine into my soul! The characters were the ones I had previously gotten to know VERY well in "The Search" and I just felt that I was getting back together with old friends. I was sooooo... happy to be with them again. Now , you may think that that sounds silly, but Suzanne makes her characters become part of you, your family, your world!! I had the biggest smile when meeting MK again!! She is one character you will never forget!!  Sadie Lapp had been a favorite character in the last book, as well, so when this book starts off with her finding a baby, my heart was filled with love for this dear girl , who always does her best to please everyone. She loves this baby upon sight, with heart and soul. You feel the love she experiences, as well as the heartache as the community judges her wrongly and she suffers the pain of rejection from her formerly dear friends. The characters throughout the book are so well developed, that tears flow with heartache, and laughter  comes with MK's adventures.

Suzanne has a learning experience in each of her new books. Last time, I found out so many facts about beekeeping. This time , I learned about the endangered penegrine falcons that are nesting on the Lapp farm. The author has done a great job of researching this subject. This is intertwined in a complicated plot involving the hopes and ambitions of three young people. We are constantly kept guessing what is going to happen next.

Love is in the air, but who is going to be Sadie's choice and how will she decide? Will she listen to the quiet voice of God and let His plan take over.
Where did this baby come from? Is it Sadie's, as the community believes??
The humor in this book helps us overcome the shadows and dark times, as only Suzanne can accomplish.

This is a book that keeps you up late at night! You DO NOT want to put it down. It is a page turner, to say the least. A romance, yes!! A compelling Amish fiction, yes!!! It has it ALL!!

A Five Star book!!

About the author:
Suzanne Woods Fisher’s interest in the Amish began with her grandfather, W.D. Benedict, who was raised Plain. Suzanne has a great admiration for the Plain people and believes they provide wonderful examples to the world. In both her fiction and non-fiction books, she has an underlying theme: You don’t have to “go Amish” to incorporate many of their principles–simplicity, living with less, appreciating nature, forgiving others more readily– into your life.
When Suzanne isn’t writing or bragging to her friends about her first new grandbaby (!), she is raising puppies for Guide Dogs for the Blind.

To Suzanne’s way of thinking, you just can’t take life too seriously when a puppy is tearing through your house with someone’s underwear in its mouth. Suzanne can be found on-line at: www.suzannewoodsfisher.com.

A GREAT book!!! Robert has done it again!

About the Book: (as stated by Thomas Nelson)

One young woman. Two very different roads. The choice will change everything.

Even as a pregnant, unwed teen in 1974, Sandy Lincoln wanted to do the right thing. But when an ageless woman approached her in a convenience store with a mysterious prophecy and a warning, doing the right thing became even more unclear. She made the best choice she could . . . and has lived with the consequences.

More than thirty years later, a pregnant teen has come into her life, and Sandy’s long-ago decision has come back to haunt her. The stakes rise quickly, leaving Sandy with split seconds to choose once more. But will her choice decision bring life . . . or death?

My Thoughts on this book:

First of all, the subject of this book is near and dear to my heart. Twenty two years ago, on August 16th, a baby girl was born to a young lady , who made "THE CHOICE" of giving her up for adoption and my husband and I were the happy recipients of this very special gift.  So, perhaps my opinions of the subject matter and the emotions that overwhelmed me when reading this story  were colored somewhat by our wonderful , miraculous experience. We were given a gift that was so precious and upon meeting the young girl , were so impressed by her wisdom and courage in this hard decision making process. What a wonderful title for this great book!!! There are many choices to make in life but to make life changing ones at such a young age has to be so difficult. I have such respect for the birth mom of our child.

Robert has written a masterpiece in which he uses sensitivity and a wealth of information and understanding of the situation of a young pregnant girl. My emotions were on a roller coaster throughout this book. I guess part of it was comparing it to our adoption experience, but it was also due to the author's talent of making the characters so real, that you feel their heartache, their fears, their joys! When the school counsellor was giving advice, I felt my blood boil. Would this girl make the right decision with two teachers with such conflicting opinions?  As the plot developed, I could feel myself tightening up. Would the next twist or turn be as our experience had been? What would happen next? I just could never have guessed the outcome. This book appealed to my emotions as no other has ,at least, not in the same way. There are actually two stories within this book and Robert has them intertwine in  a way only he can do.

The pro life issue arises. There is definitely a struggle within a sensitive teen who truly wants to do the right thing. Struggles of an unplanned pregnancy and the courage that is needed to reject abortion as well as the courage it takes to give your baby up for adoption is dealt with in such a sensitive manner. Also dealt with , is the long term effect. There are consequences that just don't disappear, after you make your decision.  This is one BIG CHOICE! It affects one's life forever.

I must not say more or I will definitely give away a spoiler!!

I loved the mixture of suspense and mystery, as well as the romance.  Definitely a page turner!!  I could NOT put this book down.

Robert, you just keep on writing and I will keep on reading!!  You show very clearly  how "The Choice" you make can be life changing. The spiritual element in the story kept me sane through my tears . Only God gives us the chance to choose and what a title!! It can be taken in more than one way.  Thank you , Robert, for your feelings that show through this book.
 A five star book!!!

Another Fabulous Book by Sibella Giorello

"the stars shine bright"
  By Sibella Giorello

If you enjoy mysteries that keep you on the edge of your seat, while you read, this is definitely a book for you!! I was spellbound with all the twists and turns of the plot of Sibella's new book in her series from the "Raleigh Harmon Novels".  The suspense  gives the readers the mystery, intrigue and excitement they enjoy. What an outstanding ability Sibella has, to write about so many different subjects with such knowledge. She has certainly done her research well. The reader is brought into a world of crime and has you attempting to help Raleigh solve the crime in the dark realm of horse racing  and gambling. I was intrigued by the things that I learned as I read this book. Forensic facts were addressed, which I had no awareness of. So , in addition to keeping me glued to the book , with all the mysterious happenings, I learned as I read.
The main character, Raleigh, lives a double life, as an FBI agent. The subject of the consequences of lying is examined, to protect someone you love is a theme throughout the story. Raleigh becomes your best friend, someone you want to help and save from harm, Sibella has the talent of such exquisite character description, that you feel part of the story.

Synopsis: Raleigh is sent undercover to a thoroughbred horse track . Someone is fixing the races , however, who is it???Then horses started dying  and her own life is threatened! There is something bigger and more sinister going on and she must discover what it is. Entering the scene, is Special Agent Jack, a guy who changes from friend to antagonistic in a heartbeat! Raleigh is unable to turn to her family for support, as she leads this undercover life.Just days before the horse racing season ends, she races to stop the killing of these gorgeous animals and find out who is the cause of all the evilness going on.

Raleigh has to decide, is Jack friend or foe???  Should she marry her fiance? Her mother is in a mental institution. Is it really her fault? Can she redeem herself? These questions can only be answered by reading this book.
What a great book of mystery and intrigue!! Sibella, I can hardly wait for the next one!!
