One young woman. Two very different roads. The choice will change everything.
Even as a pregnant, unwed teen in 1974, Sandy Lincoln wanted to do the right thing. But when an ageless woman approached her in a convenience store with a mysterious prophecy and a warning, doing the right thing became even more unclear. She made the best choice she could . . . and has lived with the consequences.
More than thirty years later, a pregnant teen has come into her life, and Sandy’s long-ago decision has come back to haunt her. The stakes rise quickly, leaving Sandy with split seconds to choose once more. But will her choice decision bring life . . . or death?
My Thoughts on this book:
First of all, the subject of this book is near and dear to my heart. Twenty two years ago, on August 16th, a baby girl was born to a young lady , who made "THE CHOICE" of giving her up for adoption and my husband and I were the happy recipients of this very special gift. So, perhaps my opinions of the subject matter and the emotions that overwhelmed me when reading this story were colored somewhat by our wonderful , miraculous experience. We were given a gift that was so precious and upon meeting the young girl , were so impressed by her wisdom and courage in this hard decision making process. What a wonderful title for this great book!!! There are many choices to make in life but to make life changing ones at such a young age has to be so difficult. I have such respect for the birth mom of our child.
Robert has written a masterpiece in which he uses sensitivity and a wealth of information and understanding of the situation of a young pregnant girl. My emotions were on a roller coaster throughout this book. I guess part of it was comparing it to our adoption experience, but it was also due to the author's talent of making the characters so real, that you feel their heartache, their fears, their joys! When the school counsellor was giving advice, I felt my blood boil. Would this girl make the right decision with two teachers with such conflicting opinions? As the plot developed, I could feel myself tightening up. Would the next twist or turn be as our experience had been? What would happen next? I just could never have guessed the outcome. This book appealed to my emotions as no other has ,at least, not in the same way. There are actually two stories within this book and Robert has them intertwine in a way only he can do.
The pro life issue arises. There is definitely a struggle within a sensitive teen who truly wants to do the right thing. Struggles of an unplanned pregnancy and the courage that is needed to reject abortion as well as the courage it takes to give your baby up for adoption is dealt with in such a sensitive manner. Also dealt with , is the long term effect. There are consequences that just don't disappear, after you make your decision. This is one BIG CHOICE! It affects one's life forever.
I must not say more or I will definitely give away a spoiler!!
I loved the mixture of suspense and mystery, as well as the romance. Definitely a page turner!! I could NOT put this book down.
Robert, you just keep on writing and I will keep on reading!! You show very clearly how "The Choice" you make can be life changing. The spiritual element in the story kept me sane through my tears . Only God gives us the chance to choose and what a title!! It can be taken in more than one way. Thank you , Robert, for your feelings that show through this book.
A five star book!!!

Loved hearing your story of adoption, not all turn out so well. I feel for the young girl that has to make this decision but adoption is so much better then abortion. I cringe when I hear the tales of late term abortions that happen in our country. I had not read this author before but will look for this story.
