Suzanne Woods Fisher does again!! "The Haven" is another winner!!

Review of the Second of the Stoney Ridge Series:

"The Haven"
By Suzanne Woods Fisher

Synopsis, taken from the book:
When Sadie Lapp steps off the bus in Stoney Ridge after being in Ohio for the winter, she is faced with a decision–one that goes against her very essence. Yet it’s the only way she can think of to protect a loved one.
Schoolteacher Gideon Smucker has been crazy about Sadie since boyhood. But his response to her surprising decision undermines his own reputation–and his relationship with Sadie.
College student Will Stoltz is spending the spring at the Lapp farm as a guard for a pair of nesting Peregrine Falcons–courtesy of the Lancaster County Game Warden. Will needs to get his life back on track, but his growing friendship with Sadie threatens his plans.

The lives of these three individuals intertwine, and then unravel as unexpected twists create ripples through the town of Stoney Ridge . . . and through Sadie’s heart.
Once again, bestselling author Suzanne Woods Fisher intrigues and delights with a story that explores the bonds of friendship, family, and true love. Readers will enjoy every surprise in Sadie’s story as they search for the truth hidden within these pages.
My Opinion and Feelings about this book:

When I opened this book, it was like letting some sunshine into my soul! The characters were the ones I had previously gotten to know VERY well in "The Search" and I just felt that I was getting back together with old friends. I was sooooo... happy to be with them again. Now , you may think that that sounds silly, but Suzanne makes her characters become part of you, your family, your world!! I had the biggest smile when meeting MK again!! She is one character you will never forget!!  Sadie Lapp had been a favorite character in the last book, as well, so when this book starts off with her finding a baby, my heart was filled with love for this dear girl , who always does her best to please everyone. She loves this baby upon sight, with heart and soul. You feel the love she experiences, as well as the heartache as the community judges her wrongly and she suffers the pain of rejection from her formerly dear friends. The characters throughout the book are so well developed, that tears flow with heartache, and laughter  comes with MK's adventures.

Suzanne has a learning experience in each of her new books. Last time, I found out so many facts about beekeeping. This time , I learned about the endangered penegrine falcons that are nesting on the Lapp farm. The author has done a great job of researching this subject. This is intertwined in a complicated plot involving the hopes and ambitions of three young people. We are constantly kept guessing what is going to happen next.

Love is in the air, but who is going to be Sadie's choice and how will she decide? Will she listen to the quiet voice of God and let His plan take over.
Where did this baby come from? Is it Sadie's, as the community believes??
The humor in this book helps us overcome the shadows and dark times, as only Suzanne can accomplish.

This is a book that keeps you up late at night! You DO NOT want to put it down. It is a page turner, to say the least. A romance, yes!! A compelling Amish fiction, yes!!! It has it ALL!!

A Five Star book!!

About the author:
Suzanne Woods Fisher’s interest in the Amish began with her grandfather, W.D. Benedict, who was raised Plain. Suzanne has a great admiration for the Plain people and believes they provide wonderful examples to the world. In both her fiction and non-fiction books, she has an underlying theme: You don’t have to “go Amish” to incorporate many of their principles–simplicity, living with less, appreciating nature, forgiving others more readily– into your life.
When Suzanne isn’t writing or bragging to her friends about her first new grandbaby (!), she is raising puppies for Guide Dogs for the Blind.

To Suzanne’s way of thinking, you just can’t take life too seriously when a puppy is tearing through your house with someone’s underwear in its mouth. Suzanne can be found on-line at: www.suzannewoodsfisher.com.
